LeadyolBot

If you found LeadyolBot in your website's logs, this page explains it.

What it is

Leadyol is software that businesses run on their own computers to build lists of potential business customers. When a Leadyol user checks a business, the software visits that business's public website once and reads the contact details the business chose to publish: email addresses, phone numbers, WhatsApp links and social-media profiles.

Each visit is made by the Leadyol user who ran it, from their own computer. Leadyol (the software maker) does not run a central crawler and does not collect or store your data.

How it behaves

It identifies itself honestly with the user agent Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; LeadyolBot/1.0; +https://leadyol.tr/bot.html).
It reads and follows your robots.txt, including Crawl-delay.
It reads at most a few pages per visit: your home page and up to three contact or "about" pages.
It fetches one page at a time from your site, with a pause between pages.
It does not log in, fill in forms, bypass paywalls or protections, or download files.

How to stop it

Add this to your robots.txt file, and every Leadyol user's software will skip your site:

User-agent: LeadyolBot
Disallow: /

If someone contacted you

Leadyol users are asked to contact businesses one at a time, say where they found the details, and honour every refusal. If you don't want to hear from a sender again, reply to them and ask to be removed: the software keeps a do-not-contact list that removes you from all of that user's future lists. To correct your business details at the source, you can edit them on OpenStreetMap.
